Here's the weekly music update for your magnet school for the arts! First, congratulations to the Jazz Ensemble for their very strong performance at the Tango del Rey Jazz Festival, which was hosted by CPMA. Finally, as we begin (cautiously) to look towards the summer, it may be time to start thinking about summer opportunities (i.e. you can occupy your student for a week or more at a time with a summer music camp). Some summer music camps to consider locally:
And of course, the San Diego Youth Symphony will be holding their auditions for the 2010-11 academic year on June 17th, 19th, & 20th. Their is an appropriate group for EVERY student, and yes, they have financial aid available. Here are the documents for the youth symphony: In short, the opportunities are out there. Encourage your student to continue to work hard and seek out those experiences that will be both educational, challenging, and fun. Have a great week and go CPMA! |
