The CPMA Instrumental Music Booster meetings will take place this year on the same evening as the CPMA Foundation meetings. This has been coordinated in order to allow parents and community members the opportunity to attend both meetings. The Music Booster organization serves to coordinate events, raise funds, and/or otherwise enhance the availability of resources and opportunities available to our student-musicians.
This year, there are more students that ever before enrolled in music education electives, and as a group, the Music Boosters has the opportunity to help make the music education experience a memorable one!
The dates for the meetings this year are listed below. All meetings will be held at 6:00, and will meet in Room 504.
- October 6th
- November 3rd
- December 1st
- January 5th
- February 2nd
- March 2nd
- April 6th
- May 4th
- June 8th
Also, there is a CPMA Music email list. If you have not already subscribed, send an email to

Welcome to cpmamusic.com!
For those new to the site, please note that there are many useful features: a Google calendar with all instrumental music related events, links to every instrumental ensemble offered here at school (right hand side of the page), information on the CPMA Music Boosters, a link to Parent Connect, homework assignments for each class, photos, videos, and more!
A few quick notes from week one - and looking forward to week two:
- Instruments - School loaned instruments will begin going out this week. Orchestral instruments will likely take a bit longer (we have wayyy more students than instruments), but they are coming.
- Forms - The Music Education Receipt and Media Authorization should be signed and returned by the end of this week, if not done so already. This has been posted under the homework section.
- Email List - Simply include your email on the forms to have your name added to our CPMA Music email list. Otherwise, send an email with the subject "subscribe" from your address to

.
- Music Boosters - The first meeting will take place this Tuesday, September 15th, at 6:00pm, in Room 504.
Again, welcome to everyone - see you all on Tuesday (Boosters) and Saturday (Open House). |

Please join CPMA as it hosts its annual Student Orientation. Orientation is the time to meet some of your teachers, and make sure that YOU have the schedule/courses YOU need! Here's the schedule:
- 7th Grade - August 31st, 8:00 - 11:30
- 8th Grade - August 31st, 12:30 - 2:30
- 6th Grade - September 1st, 8:00 - 2:00
Again, come and make sure that everything is in order for the first days of school. This will make your first week MUCH easier. To make sure that you are in the right band and/or orchestra class, take a look below at the options:
- Beginning Band (6th Grade) - No experience necessary. Meets during 1st Period.
- Beginning Band (7th - 8th Grade) - No experience necessary. Meets during 6th Period.
- Intermediate Band (6th - 8th Grade) - Incoming 6th graders with at least one full year on a single instrument plus some 7th and 8th graders. Meets during 3rd Period.
- Advanced Band (7th - 8th Grade) - Students need to see Mr. Mulvaney to be placed in the class. 6th graders who would like to be considered should see Mr. Mulvaney during orientation. Meets during 7th Period.
- Beginning Orchestra (6th - 8th Grade) - No experience necessary. Meets during 4th Period.
- Intermediate/Advanced Orchestra (6th - 8th Grade) - 6th graders with significant experience who want to take this course should see Mr. Mulvaney during orentation. The class meets during 5th Period.
Students in 7th and 8th grade with two electives MAY TAKE MORE THAN ONE BAND OR ORCHESTRA COURSE. For example, an advanced band student may also take intermediate band or beginning orchestra, etc. 6th graders only have one elective.
Enjoy the rest of the summer ~ see you soon! |
